¡Hola estudiantes! Me llamo Señora Malone. I am excited to teach you Español this year!
Do you know why I became a Spanish teacher? Did you know that I am also a journalist? Well, if not, read on to find out more... It all began when I was in 2nd grade. I arrived home from a year-long backpacking trip around the world and even though I was only 7 years old, I realized then that I needed to let others know about the diversity of the world and its people. I have been working toward that goal ever since, and my journey has taken me to careers in teaching and travel journalism, providing me the opportunity to share with others what I have learned about our global village. I have been a teacher for 21 years, starting my career in San Sebastian, Spain, continuing onto Lawndale, CA, next to Buenos Aires, Argentina, then to Tiburon, CA and finally landing in Menlo Park ! I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to work with the Menlo Park City School District. During my stay in Argentina, I got a Masters degree in Journalism and wrote for Argentina’s international newspaper La Nación. Since then, I have been a travel writer on the side, publishing articles in The Los Angeles Times, various travel magazines and I have my own travel blog called “Molly Malone’s Travel Tips.” You can read it by clicking here. After I lived in Argentina, I moved back to California and worked for Adobe Systems in Education, promoting teachers using 21st Century technology in education around the world. I look forward to teaching you this year! |
